Hotel pool day pass - a splash of lux on a budget.

We're in Borneo on a budget. It's not too difficult but I am missing basics like room service and a hotel pool. However, I've found an awesome solution - use someone elses hotel pool, for a fraction of the cost of staying at the hotel.

Our budget hotel is literally across the road from the Kutching Hilton. For $10 a day we can swim in the Hilton's three pools. Which we did, yesterday, for five hours.

So if you're not near the coast and battling a budget look for the pool day pass and spend a cheapie afternoon in someone else's pool

(disclaimer: may not end up that cheap if you treat yourself to drinks, chips and assorted snacks).
